Hydraulic Pressing and Hydro Forming provide unique opportunities to create short run patterns. We use Hydraulic Pressing to impose impressions in the face of the material after hot working the base metal. Hydro Forming allows the metal to be formed without thinning during the forming process.
A traditional method of imposing a pattern on thin metal, this craft has transcended from small objects to architectural applications. The depth and complexities of the pattern are a function of the metal alloy and the artisan’s talents.
The expanding and weaving process not only adds texture and visual interest to the material, but increases the coverage area with less metal. A wide range of post-fabrication finishes can be applied for additional tonality and luster.
Bronze and copper sheet material can be single- or double-embossed with a variety of patterns. Double-embossing allows for a deeper pattern by drawing the material through offsetting embossing rolls. Embossed material can be painted and lineally brushed to emphasize the pattern with the remaining color.
