We seek creative industrial product designers, architects and engineers who strive to do what others think is the impossible. If you have a minimum of a four-year degree in a relevant discipline plus four years of practical experience, we welcome your inquiry.

We also seek out graduates looking for internships. Our firm believes that internships are a valuable experience for passionate graduates in industrial design, architecture and engineering. We offer paid internships for a minimum of six months once a year.

Open Position - Project Coordinator

Overview

Architectural Materials, is a global leader in the design engineering and production of materials for inspired architecture.  We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our San Diego office.  The position requires the coordination of design|engineering documents and quality control for a range of small to large scale projects the US and overseas.

We are seeking a positive person who is creative, thinks outside the box and accepts and adapts to change.  An accomplished Project Coordinator has the opportunity for growth within our project management team.

Education, experience and baseline requirements
  1. US citizen or green card holder.  Ability to travel both domestically and abroad.
  2. Fluent in English both written and spoken.  Additional language skills desirable.
  3. Highly competent in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and general programs.  Additional computer skills desirable.
  4. Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or relevant subject.
  5. Internship experience in a related field during studies desirable.
Skill Set
  1. Ability to coordinate multiple projects at once.
  2. Read and evaluate construction plans, and specifications.
  3. Perform detailed component takeoffs in an efficient and accurate manner.
  4. Collaborate with procurement and product development teams.

Architectural Materials, is a global leader in the design engineering and production of materials for inspired architecture.  We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our San Diego office.  The position requires overall management of projects and P&L responsibility for a range of small to large scale projects the US and overseas.

We are seeking a positive person who is creative, thinks outside the box and accepts and adapts to change.  An accomplished Procurement Manager has the opportunity for growth within our operations team.

Education, experience and baseline requirements
  1. US citizen or green card holder.  Ability to travel both domestically and abroad.
  2. Fluent in English both written and spoken.  Additional language skills desirable.
  3. Highly competent in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and general programs.  Additional computer skills desirable.
  4. Degree in supply chain management or relevant subject.
  5. Five years of hands on experience in supply chain management.
Skill Set
  1. Develop global supplier network (our firm currently procures raw materials and components in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania).
  2. Manage supplier to support production requirements.
  3. Ability to manage multiple suppliers at once.
  4. Read and evaluate fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
  5. Generate procurement solicitations and value based rationale for awarding purchase orders.
  6. Support senior management in the procurement of capital equipment.

We are seeking a positive person who is creative, thinks outside the box and accepts and adapts to change.  An accomplished estimator has the opportunity for growth within our estimating and project management team.

Education, experience and baseline requirements
  1. US citizen or green card holder.  Ability to travel both domestically and abroad.
  2. Fluent in English both written and spoken.  Additional language skills desirable.
  3. Highly competent in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and general programs.  Additional computer skills desirable.
  4. Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or relevant subject.
  5. Minimum of five years hands on experience in construction estimating or engineering.

Open Position - Research Center Shop Manager

Overview

Architectural Materials USA, Inc. is a global leader in the design, engineer, and manufacture of inventive architectural materials and products. We are seeking an experienced Research Center Shop Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes.

Research Center Shop Manager duties and responsibilities include:
  1. Planning, organizing, directing and coordinating day-to-day operations in the research center/production area.
  2. Oversee staff activity and performance while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  3. Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  4. Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  5. Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  6. Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop research center staff
  7. Commit to research center safety procedures
  8. Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  9. Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements
  10. Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
Requirements
  1. Proven experience working in plant operations required
  2. Proven managerial experience
  3. Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  4. Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
  6. Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  8. Strong leadership, team building and managerial attributes.
  9. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  10. Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
